Feelings of Phaly when he finish the course of Young eco-farmers in FFS – HEPA
14/06/2014

“My name is Phaly, I am a Hmong person. I was born on 02nd of May 1994 in the Den Xa Vang village, Luang Prabang district, Luang Prabang provice, Laos. I was a K2A student in HEPA. I was born and grew up in a remote area. My family’s livelihood completely relied on farm activities. When I was ten years old, I went to swiddens with my brother, my sister and my parents. I started to go to school since eleven years old. Because my family did not have enough resources for me to study, every weekend I needed to find a job to earn money for feeding myself and studying. On 2009, as I was studying at seven-class level, my family fell into difficulties and could not facilitate for me to continue study. I had to leave school to help my parents working on the farm. Six months later, SPERI recruited students to study in Vietnam. The elders in my village chose me for this opportunity.
Fortunately, thanks for Farmer Field School of "Young eco-farmers" of SPERI, after four years studying from 2010 to 2014, I have had a good foundation of eco-farming. After finishing this course, I do not only work effectively on eco-farming but also have become a teacher to teach other youths as well as share my knowledge with other farmers”
